A group of Ukrainian legislators, journalists and NGO representatives discussed the rise of political repression and ongoing threats to freedom of the press in Ukraine.

Speakers:

Andriy Shevchenko, Member of the Ukraine Parliament (Block of Yulia Tymoshenko) Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information; and President, Center for Public Media, an NGO which promotes public broadcasting in Ukraine.

Oleh Rybachuk, Co-founder of the NGO Centre UA, and initiator of the New Citizen Campaign; Head of Public Expert Council within Ukrainian part of Committee on cooperation between Ukraine and EU.
