Open-source investigations using publicly available materials have become increasingly valuable in discovering the truth in highly politicized global issues. Over the past few years, Bellingcat, one of these open-source investigative sources, has uncovered information about the shooting down of MH-17 over Ukraine and the poisoning of Sergey Skripal. Join us for a conversation with Aric Toler, the lead researcher for Eastern Europe and Eurasia at Bellingcat, on open-source investigative methods and their role today.

This event is part of the DMGS-Kennan Institute Distinguished Speaker Series, which hosts practitioners in the Russian and Eurasian spheres.

**Aric Toler, Eastern Europe/Eurasia Lead Researcher, Bellingcat
